So how does it work?

• What is Comprehensible Input?

  It's language that learners can mostly understand, even if they don't grasp every word or structure. It's the kind of input that pushes learners to learn and grow without overwhelming them.

  Krashen suggests that learners should be exposed to input that is just one level above their current proficiency (i+1). This means the input should be challenging enough to encourage learning but not so difficult that learners lose comprehension

  The key?

  Massive, meaningful exposure to the language in a way that doesn’t cause confusion, stress, or mental translation.

  That means:

  • You watch and listen, not to memorize, but to understand and absorb.
  • You don't force speaking early. You wait until it naturally emerges, just like children do.
  • You’re not expected to explain grammar rules or vocabulary. You just experience the language and let your brain do what it was built to do: acquire language unconsciously.
